Our farm land
The meadows have many old plant varieties, which is home to many
different animals or the Wild Stock
We have about 38 acres of land mainly down to pasture and 5 acres of
woodland. The fields are full of old grass varieties because no one has
sprayed Herbicide on them for years, so we have a much higher percentage of
wild herbs which the sheep love. This makes wonderful Hay. Underdown Moor is
not an "Organic" farm but it is a low input farm. Low Herbicide, NO
chemical fertilizer and therefore a low carbon farm. We are trying to preserve the Culm grassland using gentle
"land management" with help from Devon Wildlife Trust.
