Even our very small farm needs machinery, you can hire contractors with their own machinery, but they can't always get to you when you need them. Especially at Harvest time when you only have a week or so of dry weather. So we have bought our own tractor, mower, tedder and baler plus other equipment, second hand of course. With all this farm machinery to maintain I went on a machinery and maintenance course with our small- holders association - DASH Devon Association of Small Holders
