The Land

The meadows have many old plant varieties.

The "Wild Stock" that live here

We have about 38 acres of land mainly down to pasture and 5 acres of woodland. The fields are full of old grass varieties because no one has sprayed Herbicide on them for years, so we have a much higher percentage of wild herbs which the sheep love. This makes wonderful Hay. Underdown Moor is not an "Organic" farm but it is a low input farm.  Low Herbicide, NO chemical fertilizer and therefore a  low carbon farm.     We are trying to preserve the Culm grassland using gentle land management
